ABIO, Arquitectura Bioclimática en un Entorno Sostenible (BIoclimatic Architecture in a Sustainable Environment) is a Research Group officially recognized by Madrid’s Universidad Politécnica.
The ABIO Group is made up of around forty members, among which there are PhDs, architects, urban planners, engineers, landscapists. The work team is constantly developing new doctoral theses and nurturing new PhDs and research professionals capable of innovating on formal, energetic and environmental aspects of architectural integration.
We are a team of professionals and experts/research committed to bioclimatic architecture, sustainable building and ecological urban planning. Our tasks include development of architectural projects, urban planning as well as counseling and advice on issues related to sustainability and sustainable development. Research designed to produce new bioclimatic strategies and new sustainable materials is another of our primary goals. Within this field we have carried out a number of products awarded with the corresponding patents.
We contribute in research, development and innovation projects with companies within the building sector, namely, construction, developers and industrial companies.
We have vast experience in sustainable and bioclimatic design for household, educational and airport infrastructure projects, as proven by a large number of specialized journals.
